Studio the 9 was founded in 2023 in Englewood, New Jersey. At Studio the 9 we focus on education, happiness, and wellness. We turn your needs, into our priorities. We provide the best music education, private yoga+ meditation, and sound bath therapy with our professional team. Our boutique studio is comprised of experienced and dedicated teaching artists who have received their formal training at prestigious programs at conservatories and universities such as The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, New York University, Berklee College of Music, and Columbia University.

Based in NYC, composer, multilingual opera singer, flautist , educator and sound healer Ahu Angelina Guneri is an active freelance artist performing with amazing musicians in Jazz, Classical , Pop and Contemporary genres throughout the New Jersey and New York area. Angelina performs regularly with her duo and trio for special events and venues. She holds 2 Bachelor’s in Opera and Flute, a Master’s in Flute and Vocal Performing from New York University. Her Cleopatra’s Sound Healing Therapy Series “ gets great attention from the community.
Brittani Farrell
Voice Instructor
Brittani Farrell currently serves as the clinical fellow in voice, swallowing, and upper airway at Grabscheid Voice and Swallowing Center at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, in addition to teaching the singing voice for ages of 18-65 .Her formal studies include a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Colorado State University, a dual Master’s in Voice Performance and Choral Conducting from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master’s in Communicative Sciences from New York University. She has also completed additional training in gender-affirming voice, manual therapy, vocology, Parkinson’s voice recovery, and resonant voice therapy.
Ben Turner
Guitar Instructor
Ben Turner (b. 1997) is a guitarist, educator, and composer, currently based in Michigan. He received his Bachelor’s (BM) Degree in Jazz Studies at Temple University under the tutelage of Terell Stafford, Tim Warfield, Dick Oatts, and Peter Bernstein. Ben recently completed a Master’s (MM) degree in Jazz Studies as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University under the tutelage of Randy Napoleon, Rodney Whitaker, Randy Gillespie, and Michael Dease. He has been selected for prestigious programs such as Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead, JAS Academy, and the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra, in addition to receiving awards from Downbeat Magazine, the BMI Foundation, and the ASCAP Foundation as a performer and composer.Ben has taught for organizations such as MSU Community Music School and Jazz at Lincoln Center, in addition to serving as adjunct instructor of jazz guitar at Interlochen Arts Academy for the 2022 - 2023 school year.
Doris Pak
Yoga Instructor
She have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and it has become an important part of her life. She got her RYT 200 in 2019 through Yoga Alliance. Doris teaches Vinyasa Yoga and Slow Flow Yoga.
Yoga brings healing from the inside out and Doris wants her clients to experience it too. She believes that everyone deserves better health and wellness.She hopes to bring inspiration, hope, and peace through her classes so her clients can carry them into their lives.
Alexa Caroline Modugno
Viola Instructor
Alexa Caroline Modugno is a Tenafly based violinist and violist. An NYU graduate studying viola performance, she was the recipient of the Filene Concerto Competition. She was principal violist at New York Youth Orchestra and attended a variety of music institutions like Meadowmount, Interlochen, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She performs as a violinist and violist throughout the tri-state area. She is also coming out with a children’s book about a little girl who is a violinist and dreams of being a star. She encourages and motivates kids to follow their dreams.
Nemanja Adamovic
Viola and Violin Instructor
Nemanja is a member of several orchestras the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of maestro Kristjan Järvi with whom he played at Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Tonhale Zurich, Victoria Hall Geneva, Royal Festival Hall Southbank Centre London etc., Casco Philharmonic Ghent, Belgium BCO Orchestra Tokyo, Japan the National Radio Symphony Orchestra Belgrade, collaborates with the Belgrade Philharmonic. Nemanja became a principal viola player of Miami Music Festival Orchestra 2022, and Belgrade Music Festival Orchestra principal viola player. Perhaps one of the greatest collaborations was made with Max Richter, one of the most famous composers of today, who recorded music for the most famous publishing house Deutsche Grammophon together with the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra, and Kristjan Järvi. 2022 Nemanja finished Master Degree at University of Arts in Belgrade. Nemanja is currently a PDPL student at The New School in studio of Milan Milisavljevic, and a Doctor Degree student at The University of Arts in Belgrade.

She delights in sharing the many benefits of a moment by moment practice to consciously align with the totality of nature, to clearly recognize our default reactions so we can create dynamic harmony for healing, maximum regeneration and powerful transformation. May we magnify exquisite beauty, extra extraordinary love and experience the many levels of joy from a place of unbounded freedom. Classes are open to all levels so we can open to creative play, new discoveries and experience ourselves fully.
Johnathan Lowery
Woodwinds
Based in Mt. Vernon NY, composer, band leader, and woodwind artist Johnathan Lowery is an active freelancer specializing in both jazz and classical genres throughout the greater New York City area. John performs regularly with various groups including the Grammy nominated Terraza Big Band with co-leaders Michael Thomas and Edward Perez, the Grammy nominated band leader/composer Remy Le Boeuf with his group Assembly of Shadows, the BMI Jazz Orchestra for their Jazz Workshop series, and many ensembles/ chamber groups around the greater NYC area. In addition, John performs regularly with the Jazz Gallery’s Jazz Composer Showcase series, and as a woodwind substitute on various on and off-broadway shows.
David George Flight
Voice Instructor
Dr. D. George Flight has been teaching voice for over twenty years to students of all ages from amateur to broadway professionals. Styles include classical, jazz, broadway and pop. He has performed roles in over fifty stage productions of opera and musical theatre at venues such as Carnegie hall, Lincoln Center and Radio City Music Hall. He sings with New York City Opera and holds a bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in music and voice pedagogy and performance.
Thea Mesirow
Cello Instructor
Thea Mesirow is an NYC-based cellist and educator. An enthusiastic freelancer, Thea has performed in several off-Broadway productions, recorded for film and television, and played at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Roulette Intermedium, and Lincoln Center. A passionate chamber musician she is a founding member of Quartet121 and one-half of Berrow Duo. Quartet121, “a magnet for world premieres” (New York Music Daily) is supported by the Alice M. Ditson Fund. Hailed as “hypnotic” and “engaging” by Cleveland Classical, Berrow Duo has been presented by Metropolis Ensemble and the 2018 NYU Music Conference, among others. She teaches with the Washington Heights Community Conservatory, holds a private studio, and is Artist-in-Residence with Hunter College Symphony. Thea holds a master’s from Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Fred Sherry, and recently completed an Artist Diploma at NYU where she studied pedagogy with Marion Feldman.

Meet Luma, a 200hr certified Yoga Teacher, Sound Healer, Qi Gong Practitioner, and ReikiMaster. Her classes are led with a meditative quality and are designed to release mental, emotional, and physical blockages. After years of studying and exploring a myriad of meditative tools, Luma discovered that sound therapy, movement, meditation, and intentional breathing allowed her to calm her own anxieties and restore a healthy relationship with her body. She has been sharing this energetic practice with students ever since! Her goal being to help students bridge the gap between mind and body and to feel rooted and centered in true self!
Tomomi Murakami

Classically trained Cellist with highly extensive experience in solo repertoire, chamber music, orchestral works (classic/pops), and over 10 years of private teaching for all ages. She holds a Bachelors in cello from Toho Gakuen School of Music -Tokyo, Japan, and her Masters is from Conservatoire de Strasbourg, France. She studied with great cellists as Juro Aoki, Alexander Somov. A passionate orchestra musician , she played in several orchestra such as Dosanko Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Ukraine Kyiv Symphony Orchestra( Live in Japan) Ensemble Kanazawa and more. As a very experienced and passionate educator , she has taught to her students from all ages and levels at her own private studio for 10 years, in Japan. She hold awards as 2020 Cultural grant, Dogin Cultural Foundation, Sapporo, Japan,2009 2nd Prize, the 36 th Epinal Artistic Competition, Strasbourg, France,1991 Incentive award, Sapporo Junior Cello Competition, Sapporo, Japan.
Navid Kandelousi
Violin and Kamancheh Instructor
Navid Kandelousi is an acclaimed violin soloist with a lifelong passion for music. From his early studies in Tehran to attending conservatories in Milan and Moscow, Navid's talent has taken him across the globe. As a concertmaster of symphony orchestras in Europe and America, he has showcased his virtuosity and received numerous awards. Currently based in New York, Navid is a member of the Gateway Symphony and the International American YPHIL Orchestra. Alongside his performing career, he has taught Persian violin and Kamancheh at renowned institutions like Juilliard. Navid's dedication to his artistry and commitment to musical education make him a prominent figure in the classical music scene.
Megan McCafferty
Flute Instructor
Megan McCafferty is a flutist and music educator in the NYC area. She made her Carnegie Hall Solo-Debut at age 17 as a first prize winner of the Alexander and Buono International Flute Competition. She recently premiered Julia Wolfe’s flute choir “Oxygen” at the 2022 National Flute Association Convention in Chicago, IL. Megan graduated from Boston Conservatory with her Bachelors of Music in flute performance and a minor in instrument repair at Berklee College of Music. While in school in Boston she served as an intern at Flutistry. She additionally graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 2019. In her time at Interlochen, Megan took part in the “Resolve” tour where the academy band debuted “Resolve” by Clint Needham with the Factory Seconds Brass Trio from the Cleveland Orchestra. Currently Megan is pursuing her Masters Degree at The Manhattan School of Music studying with Linda Chesis.
